  • What is a Little Free Library?
A Little Free Library is a “take a book, share a book” free book exchange. They come in many shapes and sizes, but the most common version is a small wooden box of books. Anyone may take a book or bring a book to share. Little Free Library book exchanges have a unique, personal touch. There is an understanding that real people are sharing their favorite books with their community; little libraries have been called “mini-town squares.” There are over 180,000 Little Free Libraries in 121 countries! - From the Little Free Library website
  • Can I donate books? How?
Feel free to donate books to my library at any time! However, if my library is full, please do not cram books in. Instead, please bless another library, or knock on my door and see if I am home.
  • I found a book in your library that I think is inappropriate! What do I do?
Please leave it. My library is for all ages and viewpoints, and some of these viewpoints may not agree with yours. I do weed out titles I find to be actively dangerous (such as books that promote racist idiology or self-harm), but overall, I wish for Lynnwood Library to represent the viewpoints of everyone in the neighborhood. If I haven't gotten around to weeding, and you think there is a real problem, please feel free to send an email.
  • When do you restock books?
I restock my library on Fridays. That gives people the weekend to enjoy it. However, feel free to take or add books at any time!
  • What is a "sharing box?"
My library is marked as a "sharing box." That means it shares more than just books! This could be anything from school supplies and games to nonperishable pantry items, small toys, seeds, or more! In fact, because my library is covered in chalkboard paint, I aim to keep it stocked with chalk at all times, as well as bookmarks and pencils. :) Please feel free to take these items as well as the books, and replenish with your own if you are able.
